Meet Jewels!
Hi, I’m Julia and welcome to Art by Jewels! I’m so glad you found your way here!
I’ve been creating art for as long as I can remember. For me, art has always been more than something I make, but it’s how I process the world. It’s therapy, meditation, expression, and connection all at once.
My work is deeply inspired by nature, music, and the quiet details or lyrics that often go unnoticed. Growing up by the lake in Point Pleasant Beach, I spent nearly every summer day outside moving with the rhythms of nature.
I work across printmaking, painting, mixed media, and other handmade forms. I love the physical process of carving, painting, layering, and watching something take shape through touch, patience, and intuition. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Small variations in pressure, ink, and texture make every piece unique. The imperfections become part of the story of the artwork.
In a world increasingly shaped by screens, speed, automation, and digital replication, creating with my hands feel more important than ever. Making art allows me to stay present and connected to what feels real and human. It is both an act of expression and a way of slowing down enough to notice.
As a late diagnosed neurodivergent woman, creating has also been a grounding force in my life. Art helps me organize my thoughts, regulate emotions, and translate feeling into something tangible when words do not always quite fit.
Across all of my work, I return to themes of nature, humanity, movement, memory, music, and connection. My hope is that each piece feels thoughtful, alive, and personal. Something that feels both familiar and one of a kind.
Thank you for being here and spending time with my work. They appreciate being seen.
